Our Work in USA

The COVID-19 pandemic has affected individuals and communities worldwide, with unprecedented challenges for healthcare systems and the global economy. PHS's efforts to help the community during COVID-19 significantly impacted the local population. All across the state of Maryland, we collaborated with local organizations and businesses to source and provide free personal protective equipment (PPE), such as face masks, hand sanitizers, and gloves, to vulnerable groups, including low-income households, frontline workers, and the elderly.

PHS distributed over 50,000 PPE kits and thousands of meals to needy people. This support helped ensure the safety and well-being of vulnerable individuals and families during an unprecedented crisis. In addition to providing PPE and food, PHS also played a critical role in providing information and education about COVID-19. The Petronille Healthy Society organized virtual town halls and information sessions to help educate the public about the virus and how to stay safe. All information shared was verified, and all protocols were in compliance with the local health authorities.

PHS recognized the impact of the pandemic on mental health and well-being and took steps to address this issue. For example, PHS organized virtual mental health support groups and provided access to online resources for individuals experiencing anxiety and stress related to the pandemic.
Moreover, PHS launched a campaign to raise awareness about the importance of blood donation, as the pandemic has led to a decrease in blood donations due to concerns around safety and social distancing. To ensure that these resources reached as many people as possible, PHS also used social media and other online platforms to share best practices and additional information about mitigating the spread of COVID-19. This included sharing guidance on social distancing, handwashing, and other measures individuals and communities could take to protect themselves and others.

PHS partnered with local blood banks and healthcare facilities to encourage eligible individuals to donate blood and help maintain the blood supply during these challenging times. Overall, PHS's efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic have been instrumental in providing essential services and resources to the community, helping to mitigate the impact of the pandemic on vulnerable populations. Their partnerships with local organizations and businesses have been critical in reaching those in need, and their dedicated volunteers have demonstrated the power of community-driven action in times of crisis. PHS's impact on the community was significant, providing critical resources and information to keep people safe and healthy during the pandemic.
